From half-head to full head: the evolution of Gaspard's locks, a style that has revealed itself over time
The beginning of a desire... and a hesitation
Gaspard came to see me from Gap in 2022. He had long, fine hair that he'd been letting grow for a long time. Like many men with long hair, he dreamed of dreadlocks... without really knowing how to go about it. He hesitated to take the plunge. Losing all the length, changing it radically? Not easy when you've grown attached to your hair.
The made-to-measure solution: a half-head with extensions
After an initial in-depth discussion - photos, phone call, hair and project analysis - I suggested a gentle approach: start with a half-head creation with extensions. This solution enabled him to test the maintenance, the look and the style, without sacrificing his entire hair mass. A progressive, personalized experience, designed with him in mind.
One year on: the assertive choice of style
Seduced by the comfort, the look and the way the locks integrated into his daily life, Gaspard came back a year later with a clear idea: to switch to a full head of natural dreadlocks. To do this, I created locks on the top of his head, this time without extensions, using only his natural hair. I then adjusted and trimmed the existing lengths (bottom extensions) slightly, so that the cut was harmonious and the whole formed a flowing, elegant, coherent silhouette.
Today: mature locks, assertive style
Today, Gaspard wears his locks with ease, pride and naturalness. He returns twice a year from Gap to Saint-Raphaël to maintain his natural dreadlocks with me. His locks are now mature, supple, solid and, above all, they look just like him. The style he carried with him has revealed itself over time... at his own pace.
