Dreads for men - Christophe's extensions. Discover his story

Christophe is a senior manager in a large national retail chain. He is responsible for the development of new sales outlets and often travels throughout France to carry out his job.

When he was younger, he wore dreads. Christophe has, however, cut them off for several reasons:

• He was not satisfied with the quality of the locks that had been created for him.
• Finding a loctician was no easy task at the time.
• When he entered professional life, he preferred not to be noticed in order to get a job.

Christophe has always had a deep desire to wear dreadlocks. He wanted, however, to wait until society accepted dreads more easily as a standard hairstyle. 

Moreover, within his company, he noticed that, for several years, many of his female colleagues had been wearing locks. Very well accepted by the hierarchy and by the clientele, Christophe decided to make his dream come true and to wear dreadlocks.

Aware that he could not afford to wear poorly aesthetic locks, he decided to entrust this task only to a recognized professional in the creation of men's dreads. He decided to entrust this task only to a recognized professional in the creation of men's dreads.

Christophe discovered my work in 2018 through my website. Convinced by the quality and diversity of my work after examining my various achievements he designated me as the one who will create his locks.

Creating dreads for men - Christophe's natural extensions

Our first contact was in September 2019. After sending me three photos of himself, he presented me with his project to create dreads for men with natural extensions.

After a telephone conversation allowing me to understand his wishes, I advised him to wait a few months. His hair was too short for an extension. As a reminder, a minimum length of 10 cm is required for a natural dreadlocks extension.

At the beginning of March 2020, he came to see me for a pre-visit. This is necessary when you want to create a whole head.

After discussing her project at length,I proposed a creation with extensions reworked by my in-house colourist.

The objective is to obtain a shaded effect on the dreadlocks thus created. This colaration is characterized by dark roots that gradually lighten towards the ends in a two-tone spirit. In other words, we go from a darker shade to a lighter shade by a gradient with an "XXL root" effect.

Once her dreadlocks were in place, I applied some hair products on them that were products specially adapted to locks. These products are 100% natural and not tested on animals. You can find them for sale either in my workshop or on internet.

Christophe is more than happy with the result. What's more, his new hairstyle is a huge hit with his colleagues and even his customers.

This confirms that aesthetically pleasing and regularly maintained men's dreads are now well accepted.
