Maintenance of natural dreadlocks - Stéphanie
Stephanie contacted me for the mission to transform her twists and vanillas into dreadlocks. For three years she has been coming regularly for the maintenance of her dreads. And, here is the result after three years of evolution. For the record, the word maintenance, in this article, is synonymous with fitness.
This operation is carried out with a hook. It fulfils four main objectives:
- Untangle the locks which, over time, become amalgamated with each other.
- Reintegrate the small hairs that are sticking out of the dreadlocks with the hook.
- Apply a moisturiser to protect and strengthen the scalp.
- Repair damaged dreads. Using the hook is ideal if you have frizzy hair.
Maintenance should be carried out once every four months. Ideally, however, it should be done four times a year. This way, your locks will always look good.
