Natural dreadlocks maintenance for men : Methods, tips & tricks

Thibaud lives in Tahiti. He has been wearing natural dreadlocks for a long time. He contacted me for the maintenance of his dreadlocks during his stay here in France.

I use a specific technique for picking locks. It is a method that I learned in Sweden during my training as a loctician. It is widely used in Scandinavia in complex cases like Thibaud's. This technique is nicknamed " the swedish touch".

Classic dreadlock crocheting is about making quick moves back and forth in the dreadlock without breaking it. It is a method of knitting and not retyping. In the case of mature dreads, it is important not to pierce the dreadlock through and through, so as not to weaken and break it. The "swedish touch" consists in just gently "poking" the hair to reintegrate it into its original dread.

I have made this technique my own. I have developed and improved it over the years to make it my own. It can be compared to a sewing technique similar to macramé. That's why, in this case, I say "sew" the dread.

Once he was back in shape, I advised him on various types of special dreadlocks hairstyles. These are basically buns that he can wear according to his joy of the day.

Indeed, it is fun to wear long natural dreads, precisely to achieve beautiful, stylish and impeccable hairstyles!

Thibaud will soon leave for Tahiti. I wish him a good trip!
