Anne-Marie traveled all the way from Montpellier to Saint-Raphaël with a very clear goal in mind: to transform her twists into real, natural dreadlocks that are stronger and easier to manage on a daily basis.

Fusing natural dreadlocks is an ideal technique for strengthening the structure of the locks and improving their longevity.

After several years of wearing more than 300 very fine twists, her hair had become difficult to manage. Her roots were hard to reach, shampooing and blow-drying had become a challenge, and her hair lacked body and structure.

Before making any changes, I took the time to assess her hair and fully understand her needs, so that I could offer her a tailored, long-lasting, and consistent solution.

In this video, I’ll show you this before-and-after transformation, achieved using my own technique to turn fragile twists into genuine, natural, strong, and long-lasting dreadlocks. Behind this result lies a detailed analysis, structural work, and expertise that I’ve been developing for many years. This approach is one of the techniques I teach in my workshops.

Why turn twists into natural dreadlocks?

Anne-Marie had been wearing more than 300 very fine twists for several years.

Over time, maintaining my hair became increasingly difficult. The roots were hard to reach, and washing and drying my hair became a daily challenge.

Her twists lacked body. Those very fine strands were fragile, prone to breaking, and didn't hold up over time. Even when she tried to re-twist the roots, it didn't work anymore.

Hair Analysis and Understanding Hair Needs

During our conversation, I took the time to carefully examine Anne-Marie’s hair in order to understand its history, the structure of her twists, and how they’ve changed over time.

Every head of hair is unique. Before making any changes, it is essential to assess the hair’s density, the strength of the roots, and its ability to maintain its shape over time.

This analysis phase allows us to recommend a solution that is tailored to your needs, consistent, and, above all, gentle on your hair.

The solution: merge the twists to create strong, real dreadlocks

The best solution for Anne-Marie was to merge her twists into full-fledged natural dreadlocks.

Basically, they were very fine strands that had never really taken shape at the roots.

This lack of a solid foundation made the whole structure fragile, unstable, and difficult to maintain over time.

My job was to gather and arrange these twists to create more uniform dreadlocks, with a reinforced base and better overall hold.

The goal isn’t just about aesthetics. It’s about restoring stability to the hair, making daily care easier, and allowing the locks to develop in a sustainable way.

A natural, structured, and long-lasting result

Today, Anne-Marie's dreadlocks have regained their shape, with more body, balance, and cohesion.

Daily hair care has become much easier. The roots are more accessible, shampooing and drying are easier, and the hair as a whole feels more manageable.

The result is natural, harmonious, and elegant—exactly what she had in mind from the start.

Beyond the aesthetics, what she has regained above all is a sense of comfort and stability.

Every head of hair is unique. Every transformation requires a thorough analysis and an accurate diagnosis.

That’s part of my job, too.
